World renowned architect and designer Patricia Urquiola made her first visit to Ireland for two events at Minima in Hanover Quay on May 23rd. They have been organized by Minima’s creative director Helen Kilmartin with the collaboration of Francesca Vargiu, Studio Urquiola’s Head of Development, currently based in Dublin.

Urquiola did a morning presentation for 50 Architects, which was attended by the Italian Ambassador Paolo Serpi . Later that evening a presentation and a party full of 150 guests in association with the Gloss.

She spoke about her work as an architect on projects such as the 5-star Il Sereno Hotel, situated on the shores of Italy’s majestic Lake Como and the hotel in Milan downtown, Room Mate Giulia; this year, she has redesigned the BMW Welt in Munich using recycled materials and innovative technology in the floor production.

Currently working on multiple projects across the globe, Patricia Urquiola is also designing the amenities of a beautiful residential development in Lincoln Sq,Bloomsbury London.

Over time, she has been collaborating with the most important Italian and international companies, such as: B&B Italia, Baccarat, Boffi, Cassina, De Padova, Driade, Ferragamo, Flos, Gan, Georg Jensen, Glas Italia, Haworth, Kvadrat, Listone,Giordano, Louis Vuitton, Molteni, Moroso, Mutina, Rosenthal and Verywood.

Minima  transformed their showroom on Hanover Quay into a gallery of their favourite Urquiola designs, with pieces from Cassina, CC Tapis, Moroso, B&B Italia, Glas Italia, Mutina, Gan, Flos.
